The Intesa Sanpaolo Group supports the Nautical Venture Building project and its innovative ecosystem

The Innovation Center is also part of the ambitious initiative led by CDP Venture Capital to create 10 new enterprises in 3 years and keep the network of SMEs operating in the nautical sector competitive.

CDP Venture Capital is leading an ambitious venture building project entirely dedicated to the digital transition of Italian SMEs operating in the nautical and port logistics sectors.

Through the Boost Innovation Fund, CDP Venture Capital – in agreement with the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy – has facilitated the establishment of a Special Purpose Entity dedicated to the creation and launch of new entrepreneurial initiatives that will develop products or services for the digitalization and innovation of SMEs operating in the nautical and port logistics sectors.

With an investment of 8.7 million euros, the objective of the “Nautical and Port Logistics Venture Builder” project is to create 10 new enterprises in the next 3 years, which will be the subject of subsequent equity investments by CDP Venture Capital's Boost Innovation Fund, for an amount of approximately 30 million euros. These investments could generate an additional market effect that will bring the total investments to around 70 million euros.

The new enterprises generated can help bridge the process and technological gaps of SMEs developing components and services in the sectors of shipbuilding, pleasure boating, cruising, and port logistics. Investors in the venture building project include Bridgemaker (German venture builder), Cariplo Factory, Fincantieri, a world leader in shipbuilding, PSA Italy, which has three container terminals in Italy and represents 25% of the country's import-export, Intesa Sanpaolo through the Fondo Sei of Neva Sgr, the venture capital company of the Group controlled by Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, which supports the development of the Genoese and Ligurian territory, and Friulia, the Financial Company of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, supporting the development of the regional territory
