Promoting innovation also means strengthening the network of relationships with international institutions operating in Italy. It is with this spirit that on March 21st Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, in collaboration with the IMI CIB Division and the International Public Affairs Head Office Department, welcomed Naila Mazzucco - Australian Consul-General and Trade & Investment Commisioner in Milan.
An opportunity for discussion and mutual inspiration on open innovation issues and development opportunities for corporates and startups.
The meeting, hosted on the 31st floor of the skyscraper, was organized in line with the Innovation Center's objectives of supporting the Italian industrial and institutional ecosystem, while promoting the growth of Italian startups and attracting international capital and corporates. In addition to the Australian Consul General in Milan Naila Mazzucco and Consulate Representatives Sheralyn Derrick (Investment Director) and William Peaslan (Investment Director), Kevin Salerno (General Manager of the Intesa Sanpaolo branch in Sydney), Stefano Gandolfi and Luca Esposito were present (International Network of IMI CIB) and Alberto Sartori (International Public Affairs Department of Intesa Sanpaolo).
A morning to discover Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center business model and explore new international collaborations
The event began with a presentation of Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center by Vincenzo Antonetti – Head of Innovation Network Development; there was talk of applied research laboratories, open innovation services for startups, the circular economy and the international thrust of the Innovation Center with a particular focus on the Israeli ecosystem, a geographical area within the perimeter of the Consul General of Australia.
With the speech "Trend & Technologies", Stefania Vigna - Head of Trend and Technologies, provided a general overview of the most impacting technologies in the areas of climate change, energy & infrastructure, alternative fuels, smart cities and smart mobility,
The central focus of the meeting was the in-depth study "Deep dive on Open Innovation Services" with speeches by: Bill Barber - Financing and Growth of Startups, on support for the growth of Startups; Alessandro Rotoli - Head of Corporate Innovation, on Business Development for Startups and Tech Scouting for Corporates activities.
Finally, Massimiano Tellini - Head of Circular Economy, illustrated strategic activities and projects in the circular economy.
The morning ended with a visit to OGR TECH which hosts the recently launched “Torino Cities of the FutureTechstars Accelerator” program.
