We are working together to build a future which puts people and their needs at its center, a future where economic and social growth go hand in hand.
Our managers oversee the Innovation Center’s areas of activity, working together to achieve business objectives and identifying the best opportunities to grow the company together with the innovation stakeholders.
I started my career in Fiat Auto, in the Organization and Systems sector. I have extensive experience in HR, having been Head of Personnel in the Olivetti Group, Unicredito and in Sanpaolo IMI. Between 2007 and 2020 I held several positions at local level, such as Chairman of Aeroporto di Torino, Turismo Torino and of Intesa Sanpaolo Group Services. In 2014 Carlo Messina asked me to set up a center dedicated to innovation for the Gruppo Intesa Sanpaolo: and so the Innovation Center began to take shape, becoming an independent company in 2018. Today I am Chairman with operational powers of Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center and Vice Chairman of Neva SGR.
An Economics graduate, I have worked in several banking contexts, first of all in the business area followed by HR, where I developed my executive career both in specialized and managerial areas and, such as Head of Personnel. I have been Deputy General Manager of one of the main co-op banks in Italy, holding non business powers. I joined Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center when it was created, and I have followed and contributed to the structuring of its methods, processes and company operating and project instruments as head of Planning and Governance.
I graduated in Political Science specialising in Economics at the University of Bologna, and have pursued my career in three banking groups, developing my expertise from the start in the business client segment and reaching the position of Head of Corporate and Merchant Banking and later, Chief Lending Officer. I have been a board member of Mac Spa (later AIM Spa di Borsa Italiana), Palladio Leasing (Mediobanca Group) and other groups. I arrived in the Innovation Center of Intesa Sanpaolo in May 2018, as head of Innovation Business Development, as well as being a member of the Investments Committee of NEVA SGR, the Venture Capital fund management company of Gruppo Intesa Sanpaolo.
I started my career in 1987 in SNAM, then Cedborsa, Citibank and Unicredit, where I held the position of CIO of a digital B2B bank. From 2003 to 2006 I worked in New York as CEO of a financial Broker/Dealer. On my return to Italy, I joined the Intesa Sanpaolo group, where I was introduced to the innovative startup ecosystem, creating services to support startup growth. My work in this area has continued at the Innovation Center, in the Startup Financing and Growth structure, which I have the honor to lead, assisted by an international team of professionals. I am also a company director of Indaco Venture Partners.
I joined the Banca Commerciale Italiana in 1996 after graduating in Economics. In 2013 I moved to Washington DC to work for the International Monetary Fund. Following this, I rejoined the Intesa Sanpaolo group to open and manage the representative office in Washington DC. I am delighted to have been part of the Innovation Center since 2018, managing the Trend Analysis and Applied Research structure, which, together with highly specialized professionals, has the task of studying future trends and carrying out applied research in the field of AI e Neuroscience.
An economist by profession, I spent the first ten years of my career in corporate and investment banking in Europe and the Asia Pacific area. After completing my MBA at Hong Kong, followed by a Master’s at Yale, today I have the honor of leading, alongside a team of highly talented people, the initiatives of the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center which support the widely diversified activities of the Group in the field of the Circular Economy, the new sustainable economy paradigm: from the analysis of business models to the validation of taxonomic criteria, from networking to the preparation of scientific papers.
A seasoned journalist by profession, my career took a new turn in 2019 when I entered the world of innovation. The new role of Head of Communication, Culture and Marketing of Innovation has given me the opportunity to measure myself with the initiatives and projects which are a qualifying factor for Gruppo Intesa Sanpaolo. My job is to publicise the Innovation Center and its activities, follow the various international initiatives and foster dialogue with public institutions and stakeholders and I am privileged to do this together with the people of my structure.
